Farm parks are great to visit for a fun-filled family day out.
Rack up those outside hours, pull on your wellies if the weather’s not so good and go and visit the animals.
Many of these centres also have playgrounds and tractor rides so there’s plenty to keep your little balls of energy busy.
Pack some snacks or a lunchbox* and some drinks and spend the day there!

Farm Parks – What You Need to Know
If you are pregnant and considering a visit to a farm park you should be aware of the risks.
You may or may not know that there is a risk of infection if you come into close contact with newborn animals or new mother animals.
This is a year round risk and not just the spring.
Avoid close contact with any animals that have recently given birth, do not milk animals and ensure any family members who do these things wash their hands and contaminated clothing before coming into contact with you.
If in any doubt, just avoid the visit altogether.
It should go without saying that you and all visiting members of your family – pregnant or not – should wash your hands frequently during a farm visit to avoid anyone contracting an illness.
